So much good news again today.
Colin is doing very well, and is really enjoying exercising his arm using his tablet. Things seem to be going on well, and there is lots of sunshine on the horison.
I am attending the carer training with a carer who will be our helper for Colin, and that will be next week for 3 days starting on Monday. The even better news is that I get to stay over there and be close to Colin the whole time. I will also be able to have meals there – the same yummy stuff he gets, and we will be able to eat together as well. I will spend all day with him, doing his therapy, his exercises, his medical stuff, etc, seeing how it is all done. I have also catheterised Colin 3 or 4 times now, (last week already), and I am looking forward to knowing exactly what will need to be done.
I have also found an alternative to buying a new expensive car that can fit the motorised chair in the back. For a fraction of the price, we can get a wheelchair rack that fits onto a towbar hitch. We will also have to fit a tow bar onto the car, but this is certainly so much better than the commitment of a new car when the financial future is not altogether certain.
Hopefully the quotes from the builders will come in tomorrow or on Friday so we can start making the house safe for Colin’s return.
I can really see the path ahead now, and it makes me feel excited and grateful for the progress we have made, and hopeful for the challenged ahead.
Today I am also grateful for tablet stylus pens because it is how Colin is able to use his iPad.
