Colin had a good day today.
I shaved his face again, and hopefully we will be able to get rid of the neck-beard once the cone of shame and even trachy are out. I am still too nervous to shave too close in case I make him cough. They are making noises about removing the trachy even possibly next week, but we are not holding our breath. He does have to go back and see Dr Kolloori (who was his surgeon) next week as well to see if he can remove the cone of shame. He is waiting for that day, and it will be a huge celebration for him.
He is enjoying trying out the electric wheelchair, and he is making great strides. Today he said that his mis-spent youth of driving games was a life well spent as he can now make use of all the knowledge he has squirreled away in his brain. HA HA HA
His shoulder is not nearly as sort anymore, and he is able to work harder and harder in the gym. The physios are happy with his progress. He will sleep well tonight – he worked really hard. I can’t believe 40 days has flown by; and I can’t believe the strides he has already made.
Today I am grateful for friends, and technology to connect me to them. <3

Wonderful that there are these little eind every day. 40 days…You must be so exhausted. Don’t forget to be kind to yourself. You are doing an amazing job.
