Colin seemed either a bit tired, or else slightly down today. He didn’t say anything out of the ordinary, but I could tell he wasn’t his usual self. He has been wanting me to give him a hair cut for a while, and he prefers me to shave him – they nurses don’t use hot water, and they don’t use a hot towel to soften his beard first, and they also don’t seem to know that the razor has a button to turn it on. It works, but if it is not on, it pulls his skin and hurts a little.
I did a fairly decent job, but I will get better at it. I notice he needs a new blade too, so perhaps that will help next time. Here is the bad job I did:
He is working really hard on his exercises and he seems to have regained a very little in his right arm – specifically just a little in his wrist – now too. The physical therapists work with him 3 times a day, and he works so hard. Today I took the cushion-y inner from his cone of shame to clean and put in a fresh one. It seems a but stinky and gross, but luckily he can’t smell anything due to the air not going through his nose. HA HA a blessing in disguise.
I know the shave and haircut – I gave him a number 2 buzz cut – will help him feel less sweaty for a bit. When I put his cone back on, I bumped the trachy pipe and he started coughing. It makes me so anxious and nervous, but he is so patient about it all.
Missing you so much Colin. Keep working so much – I am in awe of you. My wonderful and loving lubs. <3
