Not much news today really, but he is working hard on his exercises. He also had a few visitors again today, and that is wonderful. He perks up with each visitor, and I believe we are going slowly from strength to strength.
Here is a video from Saturday – I figured out how to do it.
Today he spent an hour and a quarter in the gym, but then had to stop as his shoulder was too sore.
He told me that he wishes his shoulder was less sore so he could work harder. I am so proud of him – he is really working hard – harder than he ever has before. For those of you who know us – we haven’t done more than walk to the bedroom from the study for the past 10 years, so it really is hard work for him. He is doing so well and I am so glad that he really wants to do this. He is stubborn enough to make it work. His left arm is very slowly regaining strength, and his right is just starting to allow him a very little movement in his wrist. I am beyond happy. I was not able to shave him or cut his hair, but he says it can wait ’til tomorrow. But I MUST do it tomorrow.
Here is a video from today:
Colin has a nasty bed sore that is a sort of crack right on his coccyx, and is starting to get one on his head and heels. I have phoned the medical aid and am investigating hiring him a special mattress, but I have to get a motivation letter from the Doctor (she is willing to write one) and then I have to get a quote and submit it. I am hesitant to find out how much it will cost, but I think it is something we do need. I am sure that hiring one will be a much better option, and hopefully when he is more mobile and in the chair a lot more (like more than one hour a day) he will be better placed not to get the sores in the first place.

Good evening Janice
Wow is all I can say. He is improving by the day. His mind is in the right place and the willingmess to excercise is a positive sign.
Looking forward on another update tomorrow.
