Starting the year as I mean to finish it – I have been crafting up a storm.
Another free, and un-missable course from Altenew (go here to find the free All About Layering 4 class, and go here to catch up on the bundle of the previous three – also free).
The course focuses on layering the beautiful Altenew Build a Flower sets that create gorgeous and life-like images with layering techniques. The course shows you how to layer the images perfectly and also includes several tips and tricks on getting a cohesive and gorgeous finished card that showcases the flower.
Many flowers are my most favourite one (ha ha) but I have a special place in my heart for happy sunflowers and daisies. I used the gorgeous set called Sunflower Daisy Stamp Set that is easy to line up and creates beautifully effective detail. I have been a bit out of practice lately with one thing and another happening, but I am back and wanted to share 2 cards I created for my homework.
Both cards have the large washi tape as the background, and I layered the flowers and leaves on top. The colours I used are from the mini ink cube set called Sunflower Field 6 Mini Cube Set, and the greens are from the Green Meadows Mini Cube Set.
The first card has a sentiment inside the card as I felt it looked better without adding anything else.
My second card has a sentiment on a fish-tail banner on the front, but it doesn’t show as well as it should. There were 4 other cards I discarded and these were the best 2. I am learning a lot, and feel that I am improving my skill. that is all I can hope for, and I am happy to continue my journey. ๐
I tried to add some dimension by shaping the flowers on one of the discarded cards, but it was not successful. I have had some success shaping flowers lately and thought it may work here. It didn’t.
Here are some pics of the flowers I have been making:
This is what has kept me busy the last while, and I hope to be sharing much more here in the very near future.
Thanks for popping in, and I hope you are all having a great week.
